MasterChef viewers threaten to ‘call the police’ after contestant’s VERY cheeky comment

MASTERCHEF viewers jokingly threatened to "call the police" after a contestant made a seriously cheeky remark on the show.

With the 18th series now in full swing, fans of the BBC series were soon introduced to Pookie - and she certainly had a way with her words.

This year’s MasterChef lineup is made up of 45 passionate and talented hopefuls who come from all walks of life.

Pookie, a retired beauty salon owner, impressed viewers and judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode with her imaginative dishes on Wednesday night, sailing through to the next round.

The lovable cook created a dish called Shallow Sea-Bed Life.

It consisted of tiger prawns served with a Tom Kha Thai coconut milk soup, coral, lime foam and garnished with cherry tomatoes masago and salmon roe, coriander and samphire.

But instead of drooling over the dish, viewers were left more distracted by one of her comments.

As she struggled with an element of her main course, Pookie rather innocently told the camera: "I’m trying to get my starfish out."

Alongside an emoji of a laughing face, one person penned: "I'm trying to get my starfish out? Absolute filth."

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "Love you Pookie, but if you get your starfish out in the kitchen there will be words."

While a third warned: “If Pookie gets her starfish out, I'm calling the police."

Before appearing on the show, Pookie explained where her food inspiration comes from.

She told the BBC: "I am Thai with Chinese heritage and although this has a huge influence on my cooking, I don’t limit myself to Thai-Chinese food.

"I'm not super competitive but I love cooking, so I will give it a go, have fun and who knows how far it will take me! I’d like to show the world my Pookie Style."

MasterChef will return for a double bill at 8pm on Friday, 25 March on BBC One.
