CHASED OFF

The Chase’s contestant gets BRUTAL dressing down from Paul Sinha – and even Bradley Walsh joins in

A CONTESTANT on The Chase was branded as a "leach" after they snapped up an outrageously low offer.

Wednesday's instalment of the ITV quiz show saw Debbie, Steve, Colin and Claire attempt to walk away with a cash prize - but things soon got awkward.

After Colin and Steve made it through to the final with ease, Debbie was up next to face The Sinnerman, however, she wasn't as brave as her counterparts.

With £15,000 already in the kitty, Debbie stepped up to the table and, after securing just £2,000 in her cash builder round, she made the bold decision to take the low offer of minus £2,000.

She admitted: "I'm really sorry guys, I am going to bottle it and go for the lower offer. I feel really bad, but not bad enough to go for the £2,000."

Her decision paid off, but when she made it through to the final, host Bradley Walsh said of her fellow contestants: "That has not gone down well, don't turn round."

A disgruntled Paul added: "I don't know what you are cheering about."

However, Debbie clapped back: "I'm through, I got more questions right than you."

Paul quipped: "They have brought in new rules where you bring home what you brought into the final, has no one told you those rules?"

Fans of the show were unimpressed also, with many taking to Twitter to air their thoughts on her controversial move.

Alongside an emoji of an angry face, one person penned: "Debbie is nothing but a leach. Imagine being that happy to take the minus offer."

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "What on earth is Debbie playing at and why is she celebrating?"

While a third added: "Imagine having Debbie on your team. Awful player."

Following their defeat, Paul said: "You played well and it was just that last 25 seconds where if you got three or four right it would have proved crucial."
