As Tommy presented his long lost son, Duke, viewers rushed to Twitter to comment on how much the new family member looked like a popular former boyband member.

One asked: "I can’t be the only one who thought when tommy’s son came in was harry styles at first #PeakyBlinders".

Another wrote: "Genuinely thought it was Harry Styles, I need to find my specs #PeakyBlinders".

A third quipped: "Can’t believe they got Harry Styles on the show #PeakyBlinders".

"Tommy’s son is a Wish version of Harry Styles," added another.

Duke is in fact played by 22-year-old actor Conrad Khan and not the former One Direction crooner Harry Styles.

Tommy - played by actor Cillian Murphy on the BBC crime drama - recently mourned the death of his daughter Ruby as they attended her funeral.

While on a rampage, killing those he believed responsible for putting a curse on his daughter, he finds out about Duke.

Esme Shelby (Aimee Ffion-Edwards) tells him that a woman he slept with during World War One - resulted in her giving birth to a boy called Duke.

"Her name was Zelda, she said you slept together under a hazel tree," she explained.

"She fell pregnant, her father threatened to kill you, you'd already joined the army, gone away to France. You remember the girl in the hazel tree, don't you, Tommy?"

Tommy replied: "Whoever that boy is, our business is done here."

Esme added that the boy's mother is dead and he works at the fairground but wants more to life.

"If losing Ruby has left a hole in your heart I will send him to you if you give me a bit more gold," she added.
