The finale is set to be explosive, with Tommy expected to be at the centre of a huge showdown while he continues to battle against the fascist threat in Britain and stop the likes of Mosely.

The clip is narrated by Tommy, who says: "Family...sometimes they shelter from the storm. Sometimes it's the storm itself."

He continued: ";Shall we witness the final act?"

While a female voice can be heard telling Tommy that he is "cursed".

Radio Times has released a synopsis for the final episode, which reads: "A war veteran who fought in the trenches, Tommy Shelby has been a gangster, an entrepreneur, a captain of industry, a spy and ultimately a Member of Parliament.

MORE ON PEAKY BLINDERS

"In the course of this odyssey, he has taken on numerous criminal organisations, business adversaries, foreign insurgents, and the British Establishment itself.

"Now, in the 1930s, as the clouds of the coming storm gather, he faces the consequences of his experiences and his actions."

In addition to the clip, new photos of the finale have been released including several photos of Tommy in the House of Commons - of him making a rousing speech and snaps of him sitting alone looking contemplative.

There is also another picture of him sitting in a darkened pub alongside Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson).

Tommy's long lost son, Duke Shelby (Conrad Khan), is also seen looking up towards the sky, deep in thought.

It comes after fans were outraged at Tommy's "nasty" sex scene which saw him hook up with the enemy.

Cillian's character was seen bedding Diana Mitford, lover of Sir Oswald Mosley, after she organised a rendez-vous in a hotel room.

After their sordid night of passion, which left Peaky Blinders viewers aghast, Diana, played by Amber Anderson, quipped their antics were: "The English aristocracy's way of shaking hands."

She then proceeded to rub Tommy's wife's face in it by telling her about their affair and how she had "sampled" her spouse.

Viewers took to Twitter to comment on the antics in the penultimate Peaky Blinders episode, with one writing: "Not Diana wanting to have sex with tommy 💀 STOP IT NAZI SCUM."

Another surmised: "Me during Tommy and Diana’s sex scene🤢" as a third wrote: "Sex is a handshake to Diana..its a solid business tactic tbf."

One then raged: "I did not need to see Tommy having sex with that nasty woman #PeakyBlinders."

Another argued: "And once again, that sex scene meant ABSOLUTELY nothing.

"What the f**k was the point in taking Diana in that direction with Tommy??? #PeakyBlinders."
