'OLD & FORGETFUL'

Richard Hammond takes swipe at Jeremy Clarkson after crash jibes

FORMER Top Gear and Grand Tour star Richard Hammond has been the target of Jeremy Clarkson’s razor-sharp wit for decades.

Now he’s getting his own back.

Jeremy had claimed in December that Hamster, as he’s affectionately known, had “no capacity to remember anything” following two near-fatal car crashes.

So it’s ironic that Richard’s returning to our screens to front a science show called Brain Reaction, which starts on Wednesday on Comedy Central.

Richard said: “Jeremy’s memory is also crap and that’s because he’s ancient.

"I can’t run up a hill because I’ve crashed a car upside down off a mountain in flames. He can’t run up a hill because he’s fat.

“He’s one to talk about not being able to do stuff; I can’t remember stuff because I was brain injured, he can’t remember stuff because he’s old.”

Richard’s brand new comedy panel show is like a science version of Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

He fronts proceedings alongside team captains comedian Johnny Vegas and broadcaster Victoria Coren Mitchell.

In 2006, Richard spent two weeks in a coma following a 314mph jet car crash, suffering a brain injury, as well as post-traumatic amnesia, while filming for Top Gear.

Double barrelled Dr

AS Doctor Who returns for an Easter special, it looks like the timelord has got her companion Yaz over a barrel.

The Legend of The Sea Devils is a swashbuckling adventure – hence the doctor’s other Tardis-mate Dan, played by John Bishop, wearing a pirate’s tricorn and eye patch.

Sunday’s show might have a hint of romance between Jodie Whitaker’s character and Yaz, played by Mandip Gill.

Creator Chris Chibnall said: “They have hinted that they have feelings that they are suppressing and keeping quiet about.

“There are some conversations that need to be had.”

Dylan said: “I wanted to prove to myself how far I have come both mentally and physically since then, and to further prove to myself that I have come out stronger from the unfortunate circumstances.

“I am a huge mental health advocate and hopefully I can do work in the future to help people who suffer, as I believe I can use my own personal experience.”

Good on you, Dylan.

It's over the Line of Duty

LINE of Duty star Martin Compston left many of the 143 residents on the island of Eriskay open-mouthed when he turned up for a game of football.

The remote community in the Outer Hebrides was delighted to welcome football-mad Celtic fan Martin when he journeyed there to film his travel show Scottish Fling, all about the wonders of his home country.

Ugo hits back at 'ceesspit'

THERE’S been a raft of complaints about guests on the Beeb’s all new A Question of Sport who’ve got nothing to do with, well, sport.

The most glaring example was Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing.

But now team captain Ugo Monye has hit back, blaming the “cesspit that is Twitter”.

He told the Private Parts podcast: “Sport should appeal to more than just people who have played it at an elite level.

“We had Anton Du Beke on. He is probably the single best contestant we’ve ever had. His sporting knowledge was obscene.

“There was one question: Who was the first person to throw a 9-dart finish on live TV? I don’t know. He knew.”

Second helping

THE creator of Squid Game has revealed that two characters from the first series will return for the controversial show’s second outing on Netflix.
