Idris Elba reveals Luther film is FINISHED – and features the most disturbing storyline yet
IDRIS Elba says that fans should brace themselves for the most disturbing scenes EVER in his upcoming Luther film.
The actor revealed he finished filming the movie three weeks ago and added even he was shocked by the "grim" script from writer Neil Cross.
The five series so far have seen a range of disturbing plotlines including torture, serial killers, rapes, vicious assaults and paedophilia.
Idris said: "I just finished filming about three weeks ago, it was a grim shoot. Oh my gosh.
"I’m reading the script and then 'he does what? Wow, this is incredible!' And then I’m actually doing it. I find myself freezing in some dark cave or something, but no spoilers."
Asked if Luther is a victim at all, he teased: "That’s the thing! It’s all fun and games.
"If you watch the last season, it picks up after that. But for new audiences that haven’t seen it, I think the film is a whole story. Even if you don’t know Luther, who he is, or anything about him, the film attempts to be whole for a new audience. "

In the new feature-length film, the actor once again steps into the shoes of John Luther, a dogged DCI who often struggles to tell the difference between good and bad.
Elba spoke about the film on Sirius Radio, where he also confessed that he sold marijuana to put a roof over his head during lean periods of his career Stateside - confessing it's part of his life he's "not proud of."
Elba confessed he even supplied US comedian Dave Chappell, before he found fame, while working as a club doorman.
The Golden Globe winning actor, 49, sold drugs, then illegal, as he struggled to land any major stage or screen roles.
