As co-host Matt Lucas began making small talk with the trio, he introduced Prue as a dame, Mo as a Sir and himself as a queen.

He then asked Paul: “So what are you?”

Paul then stunned viewers by replying: “A master baker.”

Fans immediately took to Twitter to express their shock, with many believing Paul was making a sexual innuendo.

Alongside an emoji of a shocked face, one person penned: "Did Paul say master baker or masturbater?"

Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Master baker. It did sound like the other word though.”

While a third added: “Paul calling himself the master baker caught me by surprise."

The official Bake Off Twitter account even chimed in on the rude comment.

Posting a video of the conversation on the official account with subtitles, GBBO said: “Thank god for subtitling in videos to avoid any inappropriate mishearings”.

Mo was joined by fellow celebs, Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly, Death in Paradise star Ben Miller and Strictly Come Dancing star Moti Mabuse.

Elsewhere on the episode, Mo left fans in stitches when he jokingly asked Alexa for help when tasked with making 18 lemon and pistachio biscotti, accidentally setting off virtual assistant devices across the nation.

Viewers took to social media in their droves to acknowledge the hilarious gaffe.

“Never thought I’d see the day when my Amazon Alexa would be triggered by Mo Farah,” said one amused viewer.

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer airs on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
