Danniella Westbrook takes another swipe at EastEnders and insists she ‘won’t be watching’ Sam Mitchell return
DANNIELLA Westbrook has hit out at EastEnders AGAIN, vowing not to watch the soap after they recast her iconic character, Sam Mitchell.
Kim Medcalf, who originally took over the role from Danniella between 2002 and 2005, will soon be returning to Walford - but Danniella will not be tuning in.
The troubled actress, 48, told "I don't even know if she's coming or not I have no idea, but I won't be watching, I don't watch any soaps. I usually just watch Netflix.
"The only thing I watch on TV is anything with Sheridan Smith, she's just phenomenal other than that I don't even watch TV."
Danniella, who first joined EastEnders in 1990, made no secret that she wasn't happy that the BBC soap didn't approach her about returning, as she last played Sam in 2016.
When news broke that Kim would be reprising the role, Danniella said: "Wishing Kym the best of luck at @BBCEastenders__ yet again this poor woman has to recreate a Samantha Mitchell as close to my last two recent come backs on the square go smash it darling..x oh but not to @bbceastenders my legal team will be in touch."

Fans of Danniella's were recently excited by speculation she may be joining rival ITV soap Emmerdale after she visited the set to record a podcast.
However, the mum of two, who recently underwent the first of a series of nose job operations to rebuild her face, revealed she isn't going to turn up in the Dales anytime soon.
Danniella said: "I'm not joining Emmerdale - I'm actually not looking to go back to TV just yet.
"I'm looking to go back to theatre, that's really for me, it's something that lights me up. And I'm also looking to maybe do a radio show, a breakfast show or a drive-time show, and do presenting."

She wouldn't rule out reality TV however.
"If they had a celebrity Married At First Sight I would do it, if I wasn't getting married then I would have done something like that," added Danniella, whose mystery man is currently in jail.
"My partner always said to me to go on it anyways and get it out your system, he's cool."
