GOGGLEBOX viewers were left gobsmacked this evening as George Baggs admitted he didn’t know where butter came from.

The confused lad, 19, was chatting to his family about the spread when he made the shock confession, telling them: “I thought butter was butter.”

His horrified brother Joe asked him: “What, do you think cause obviously it’s dairy right, so what part of the cow do you think it comes from?”

George replied: “It thought the milk came out and the butter came after the milk.”

His parents were equally as surprised by his lack of knowledge, but George simply exclaimed: “Oh look, you learn something new every day, I guess.”

Those watching at home couldn’t get over it and took to Twitter to comment on his butter confusion.

One person wrote: “Well blow me, watching #Gogglebox and one lad just said he thought milk came out the cow first then butter followed!! Some people need educated!!”

A second added: “How he says "oh well you learn something new everyday" almost made me pee myself!.”

And a third remarked: “Omg can we please have people with brain cells, where does butter come from ?#gogglebox.”

The Baggs family –Terry, Lisa, George and Joe, joined the show in 2020 but missed one series due to the coronavirus pandemic.

George, who is thought to be training to be a plumber, has over  650,000  followers - many of whom he’d already attracted before appearing on the show.

It was however his older brother Joe’s TikTok account which got the family noticed by the Gogglebox head honchos in the first place.

The Essex based family do have another member – another son called Danny, who doesn’t appear on the show.
