During her first show back, Brenda, 53, opened up about parenthood and her support for working mothers.

She said: "I am a mother, and I needed creches when I was raising my kids."

Brenda also discussed beauty trends and said: "My thing of stopping ageing is slapping a bit of cocoa butter on my face. I feel invigorated every morning I wake up.

"When I did X Factor, someone said stop singing like that because you've got a line. I wasn't self-conscious until they said that."

It comes after Brenda revealed the heartbreaking moment she held her son Jamal's hand as he passed away after a heart attack.

The TV said her son "passed with me holding his hand", as she spoke in her first interview since his death on Monday.

Brenda made her first appearance on ITV's Loose Women yesterday after SBTV founder Jamal died in February at the age of 31.

"We were all at home. It was sudden and unexpected and he went into a cardiac arrest and then he passed with me holding his hand," she told Loose Women co-star Coleen.

"I get a little bit of comfort knowing I was with him."

She added: "As much as that is comfort, at the same time, it's a vision that I am never going to forget."

Brenda opened up about Jamal's untimely death and how she has been coping.

She added: "I'm doing okay, the way I'm looking at it, I'm taking each day as it comes.

"One thing I do want to say I was with him, and his sister was with us."

Brenda kept it together throughout their chat, but when Coleen praised the presenter for how strong she's been, she broke down.

Many viewers at home took to Twitter to share their love and support.

One said: "Wow Brenda, what a dignified and beautiful lady. Brought me to tears but additionally felt her strength. Jamal is incredibly proud."
