Great British Bake Off fans thrilled as beloved star makes unexpected return – but soon get a nasty shock
FANS of The Great British Bakeoff were overjoyed to find out one of their favourite stars had 'returned' to our screens, only to be left disappointed.
On Tuesday night, those who had sat down to watch the Channel 4 baking show were saw the Stand Up To Cancer celebrity episode aired.
In the episode, former co-host Sandi Toksvig was back on the show alongside Noel Fielding, which filled fans with glee.
However, many had failed to recognise that this was a repeat of an old episode.
Sandi used to host the show alongside Noel for a few years, before leaving in 2020.
She was replaced by Little Britain actor Matt Lucas, but fans have often called for Sandi's return.
As the episode aired, many rushed to share their excitement about Sandi's appearance on social media.
Twitter was flooded with posts about the star, as one said "OMG so excited that Sandi is back!!!"

As they realised their mistakes, viewers shared their frustrations.
