THE wife of a stuntman who performed on BGT has praised his bravery after he was left paralyzed after a stunt went wrong.

Jonathan Goodwin was performing a stunt on America's Got Talent: Extreme when he fell 30 feet while being hung upside down in between two suspended cars.

The former escapologist, 42, says his injuries are "likely" to be permanent as he opened up about his diagnosis.

Speaking about the incident, Jonathan's fiancée actress Amanda Abbington, 48, revealed: ";He fell 30 feet and lost a kidney, broke both shoulder blades, shattered both legs.

"Third degree burns, broke his spine and severed his spinal cord and, nearly died. And then on the operating table, he nearly died again."

Despite the life-altering injuries, Amanda explained he has remained "positive and upbeat and so strong".

"His courage and his strength is something that I just aspire to be like. He's just incredible, honestly, like so happy, just like a very happy, positive human being, just liquid sunshine. He's amazing."

    BGT fans are convinced they’ve spotted “proof” of who’s behind the terrifying Witch act.

    The terrifying act spooked everyone out during Saturday night’s instalment of the ITV show.

    Since then a number of fans have tried to figure out who it is behind the costume.

    Some think that it’s TV presenter Stephen Mulhern.

    One viewer replied to a tweet about the theory of it being Declan Donnelly with: “StephenMulhern me thinks,” and a pondering emoji.

    Another said: “Quite possibly with him been a magician and is always the bridesmaid and never the bride, this might be his moment haha.”EditDelete

    Talking about missing out on a year of BGT for the first-time in the show’s history due to the pandemic, judge Simon Cowell said: “As much as I didn’t want to not make the show last year, we just couldn’t at that point, it would have been literally impossible.

    “We had to stop it at the last moment – it was a difficult decision to make but it was the right one.

    “I think off the back of that, when we did all get back together, we realised how much we enjoy making the show.

    “We did miss each other, we get on and work well together.”

    The creepy crone, who stalked the panel handing out apples – one of which exploded in a shower of cockroaches – has been dubbed the series’ scariest act ever.

    One viewer complained about the ITV show tweeting: “My kids just came back downstairs crying because they can’t sleep because of the witch.”

    They added, alongside a shot of the character cackling: “Britain’s Got Talent done me dirty here!”

    Another posted: “Glad that was shown after the watershed. Kids be pooping themselves. My 10 year old was behind a pillow.”

    A third shuddered: “I have still got that in my head. Need to watch a other show before I go to bed.”

    The 62-year-old music mogul serves as a judge on the American version of Britain’s Got Talent and .

    He tweeted: “Heart breaking news to hear about @_nightbirde, she was an extraordinary person, so brave, so talented.”

    Jane ‘Nightbirde’ Marczewski sang an original song for her live audition and Simon granted her the golden buzzer.

    Unfortunately, the cancer spread leaving the 31-year-old too frail to take part in the quarter finals, leading to her eventual passing in February.

    ARMED Forces children who won the hearts of Britain’s Got Talent judges say singing helps them cope with the weeks their mums and dads are away.

    Their choir is made up of six to 18-year-olds whose parents are serving or have served in the military.

    Seven-year-old Isadora, whose dad is in the RAF, said that joinand ing the Voices of Armed Forces Children Choir had helped distract her when he is not there.

    She said: “The choir is special to me because I make lots of friends and when I’m feeling sad the choir makes me feel happy.

    “When I am at home and Daddy is away, it feels a bit sad and lonely a bit boring, too. It feels really exciting when he comes home. The first thing when I see Daddy is give him a big hug and kiss.”

    The choir won a standing ovation from the judges, who were moved to tears by pictures of their parents shown on a screen.

    Amanda Holden, 51, said: “I’m a mess. It’s incredibly unselfish of you to lend them to us for our own safety.”

    Judge Alesha Dixon also rushed out from her seat and helped to calm Malaki’s nerves before he started his audition again.

    Once he’d finished singing there was praise all round as Alesha said he was “a natural raw talent”, while David Walliams admitted his performance was a “really special audition”.

    SIMON Cowell has revealed when he plans to retire – and it might be a surprise to some.

    With his Britain’s Got Talent contract ending in 2025, Simon has been looking to the future.

    “I’ll never retire,” he said, speaking to The Sun from his mansion in Malibu.

    “I would never, ever do that. I think you’ve got to have a job you hate to retire. Thank God I have a job I still love.”

    He continued: “If you have a great idea and believe you can make it happen, there’s always the chance you can. This show is an example.

    “It was dead in the water. I couldn’t get arrested with it.

    “No one wanted to buy it. I just got really lucky that NBC bought it in America, because if they hadn’t we wouldn’t be having this conversation today. It was over.

    “That’s the way thing happen sometimes I certainly wouldn’t have predicted then that however many years ago we’d be having a conversation like this still talking about a talent show.

    “The great thing is there are still amazing people out there with great stories and talent they want to share.

    “I look at this show like it’s a bubble. It’s a happy bubble, a funny bubble.

    “It will hopefully still be around because we all need that escape sometimes.”

    Asked when he’ll leave Britain’s Got Talent, he said: “I’ll be committing until 2025 – that’s when the contract runs to.”

    Beau, 12, Toby, 11, Adam, 10, Joey, 10 and Ollie, 11 said they were “excited and nervous” to be performing on the biggest talent show in the country.

    The youngsters explained they had been bullied in the past for being dancers, so the performance meant a lot to them.

    When asked why they wanted to take part in the show, they said: “We are trying to spread the word for boys who dance because it’s not always easy for us because we get bullied.

    “We kind of just want to say to ourselves ‘we know we are better than them’.

    Lost Voice Guy performed in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday to the biggest crowd it’s seen this year.

    Lee Ridley, who performs as Lost Voice Guy has Cerebral Palsy but uses the condition to make people laugh.

    Performing his show, Cerebral LOLsy in , he drew 160 people – the largest number they’ve had all yer.

    The winner of  2018 told the audience he’s found zoom performances difficult: “Comedy relies on interaction with the audience, and you just don’t get that when you’re looking into a webcam in your kitchen telling jokes in your boxer shorts.”

    Ant & Dec (Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly) are the presenters of Britain’s Got Talent.

    They have hosted the show together since Series 1, and have been given the same Golden Buzzer rights as the Judges since Series 8.

    In Series 12, Ant was involved in a drink-driving incident, which left Dec to host the live shows solo.

    A young girl was thrown to the top and her teammate held her in place.

    She was suddenly thrown backwards and caught by others, and Amanda could not contain her shock.
