Simon Cowell will marry Lauren Silverman in London — and it’s sooner than you think

IT took him decades to decide he wanted to get married – but Simon Cowell is wasting no time walking up the aisle after proposing to Lauren Silverman five months ago.

I can reveal the music and TV mogul will marry his socialite fiancée in London next month.

A source said: “Simon cannot wait to have Lauren as his wife and didn’t see the point in delaying it.

“He has taken charge of the planning and the date has been set for June.

"The ceremony is going to take place in London, with their son Eric front and centre, naturally.

“Simon and Lauren are looking forward to coming together with their family and friends to tie the knot.

“It’s been a long time coming and now Simon wants to get Lauren up the aisle as quickly as he can.”

The Britain’s Got Talent creator previously admitted he’d taken over planning the big day from Lauren, who he started dating in 2013.

Discussing their nuptials in an exclusive interview with The Sun, Simon revealed he had also shunned wedding planners and was taking a hands-on approach to being a groom.

He said: “I am planning it all, otherwise I know what will happen — there will be 600 people and it’ll get out of control, like my 50th birthday party.

“No one knows when it’s going to be — that’ll be a surprise, even for Lauren.

“But I don’t want to have one of these ghastly wedding planners and all the arguments that happen, and who you do invite and who you don’t invite.

"The whole thing just seems like too much hassle.”

Knowing Simon, I am sure he will have a few surprises up his sleeve for Lauren.

There may not be bucketloads of tradition, however.

Simon admitted he’s not keen on the pomp and ceremony.

He said of proposing: “I’m not romantic, obviously. And I didn’t get down on one knee.”

I’m not sure how many women would put up with that.

Simon sure is a lucky bloke.
