When does DNA Family Secrets start on BBC2?

When does DNA Family Secrets start on BBC2?

The first season aired last year and ran for three episodes.

DNA Family Secrets series two will start on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.

It will air at 9pm on BBC2 every week at the same time.

This season will double the length of the last, with six episodes set to air.

Who is host Stacey Dooley?

Returning host of the show is presenter and TV personality, Stacey Dooley.

Stacey, born on March 9, 1987, in Luton, has hosted many documentary style shows.

She is known for presenting documentaries focusing on social issues such as stalking, domestic violence and fashion pollution.

In 2018, Stacey was appointed Member of the British Order (MBE) in the birthday honours.

Since her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, Stacey has been in a relationship with professional dancer Kevin Clifton.

From 2018 to 2020 she hosted the makeup competition Glow Up - radio presenter Maya Jama took over the role for the third and fourth seasons.

What happens in DNA Family Secrets?

The show uses DNA to reveal missing relatives and solve other family mysteries.

In the first season, participants found out the identities of their unknown biological parents.

DNA also enabled them to find out if they had a genetic predisposition to illnesses like ovarian cancer or Huntington's disease.

Professor Turi King, a geneticist, helps Stacey to present the show and explain the findings to the participants.
