Who will replace Dan Walker on BBC Breakfast?

Dan quit BBC Breakfast after he signed a deal with Channel 5 that will see him host the news and present primetime shows.

He penned a £1.5million deal with Channel 5 in early 2022.

The mega-bucks three-year deal will see him host the news at 5pm four days a week – and six hours a year of prime-time shows.

While his successor hasn’t officially been announced, the bookies have already got their favourites (odds according to ).

Jon Kay is the top favourite to take over from Dan.

The 52-year-old has worked on BBC Breakfast since 2010 and often fills in for its main hosts.

Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati told : “It’s looking increasingly likely that BBC chiefs have found Dan Walker’s replacement.

“And he’s no stranger to the Breakfast family, with Jon Kay pulling away from the chasing pack.”

Gethin kicked off his career at the BBC when he became a presenter on Blue Peter back in 2005.

The Welsh TV star is also a regular on The One Show.

Gethin also hosts Morning Live on BBC One, which is on straight after BBC Breakfast.
