She captioned the snap: “MAVERICK and MATH-ERICK. PIC from a fair few years ago. We were racing cars at @goodwoodrrc having the best best time.

“I'm back to racing soon I hope. Have added rally driving to my list of MUST DOs as well. Life's too short not to.

“Off to the @topgunmovie premiere tomorrow night....”

Carol's followers rushed to comment on it, with one person writing: “I am well jell! You would make a fabulous couple of thrill seekers though ❤.”

A second remarked: “That'd be a good looking couple 😉”

While a third added: “Oh Carol, it’s a match! You look fabulous.”

Top Gun: Maverick will finally be released this week after a three year delay.

Tom returns as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell and  Batman Forever star Val Kilmer, 62 – who battled throat cancer in 2017 – will be back as Maverick’s former rival, Tom “Iceman” Kazansky.

Last year Carol signed up to celebrity matchmaking service Raya after previously shunning dating apps.

She told The Sun that she been bombarded by offers from men and women on the network for elite singletons, which counts Hollywood actor Channing Tatum, Normal People star Paul Mescal, singer Lewis Capaldi and BGT’s David Walliams amongst its famous clientele.

She's made it clear to potential suitors she isn't looking for anything longterm during a brief stint on the app.

She said: “A mate of mine said it would be a laugh. A lot of LA people made contact, men and women funnily enough, but it’s not my scene.

“I’m quite happy with my usual way of doing things. But life is never dull.”

The glam boffin previously said of her single status: “I am very happy. I have no complaints. I am not dating anyone, I have special friends. Plural.”

And twice-married Carol said she was revolted by the idea of settling down.

She told The Telegraph: “The thought of sharing my life with anyone again makes me feel positively sick.”
