EASTENDERS’ stars Shona McGarty and Max Bowden have become “inseparable” after he split from his pregnant lover.
Insiders say Shona, 30, who plays Whitney Dean, looks “smitten” with Max.
The actor, 27, who stars as Ben Mitchell in the soap, assured his girlfriend he was not seeing anyone else when they separated earlier this year.
He and Shona also insist they are not “officially dating”.
But pals yesterday admitted: “Who knows what could happen in the future?”
Max and Shona looked cosy while out with another couple at a country music festival at London’s O2 in March.

They are also said to be tactile and “never apart” on the BBC set.
A source said: “Max and Shona are mad for each other. They have been spending quality time together for a while now.
“Max and Shona’s friendship is more enthralling than an EastEnders’ plotline.”
Max’s ex-lover, insurance exec Roisin Buckle, revealed last month they were having a baby boy.

The couple vowed to raise the tot together, despite splitting earlier this year.
Shona was single after splitting from electrician fiancé Ryan Harris in January 2020.
She has admitted dating apps are “not for me”, saying: “What would I put on the profile? ‘Likes eating Monster Munch in bed? Takes long baths?’ Forget swipe right, they’d delete the app. I’m much more of a people person, I like to meet someone in real life.”
A pal of the couple said last night: “Shona and Max have been friends for years now but they’re absolutely not in a relationship.
