And tonight, viewers will see Liam ask the boys to help him get everyone gathered for his announcement, saying: “I think we need to have a chat, we need to get everyone by the fire pit."

The rest of the Islanders are left shocked by Liam's stunned as Liam calls them to the announcement.

Liam's early departure means the door is now open for a new singleton to join the villa.

An insider told The Sun: "The reasons behind it are unknown so viewers will be glued to their screens tonight to find out."

An spokesperson for Love Island broadcaster ITV declined to comment.

The Sun exclusively revealed earlier that Liam was due to make a shocking announcement.

Liam was on a roll last night, literally jumping for joy as she headed out on dual dates with the two new arrivals.

He was seen chatting up first Afia Tonkmor then Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu over flutes of bubbly outdoors.

However, despite his best efforts, neither girl was bowled over, with Ekin-Su and Afia both saying they liked other boys.

The lad was left single after self-confessed 'Italian stallion' Davide Sanclimenti took his girl.

Liam and Gemma Owen had been coupled up but the businessman, given the power to choose one girl, picked her leaving the student at risk of being dumped from the villa.

Liam said before he went into the villa that he was hoping to strike a bond early with one of the contestants in the villa so they can grow throughout the show.

He explained: "I think 22 is a really nice age to meet someone, you’ve got your years ahead of you so you have time to experience stuff and grow together.

"I think Love Island is a great opportunity to meet someone, you’re in with a load of different types, so you can get to grips with what you really like about people."

Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2
