Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri secretly applied for another reality show – and her dad helped
LOVE Island’s Tasha Ghouri could have been part of a totally different dating show.
The dancer, who has been looking loved-up with Andrew Le Page in the villa, had applied to be part of another programme before producers asked if she’d be up for Love Island.
It came after a shot of the hearing-impaired model, wearing an earring alongside her cochlear implant on the Asos website, went viral last year.
And her proud dad, Tarek Ghouri, 55, has revealed how he helped with her applications.
He explained: “It began when Tasha started modelling for Asos, which actually came out to the fact that during COVID all the dance jobs dried up. So she started to change her career to something else that she also enjoys, which is fashion, so modelling.
“Her agency got her some modelling jobs and Asos, the way they seem to work is that they will do modelling photos of your face and your hands and your feet first before they move on to the full body and everybody gets that treatment.

“So we started with just a normal earring shot, and it went viral and I think that obviously got her noticed.”
“She'd applied to another show before that - I can't remember the name but it was an ITV show as well.
“So I think at some point, the producers thought she would be an ideal person to go in the villa, not least because she's desperate for love. And that's what Love Island is all about.”
It is not clear what show Tasha might have tried to join, but ITV broadcasts others including The Cabins, Ready to Mingle and Dinner Date.

Tarek, who lives in Marbella, went on to explain how he had previously helped his daughter film an audition video.
He said: “She was on holiday with me in Spain when we did the very first one, probably three years ago.
“She walked down the stairs towards the pool and we filmed her introducing herself and what she was looking for in a man and that sort of stuff.”
And speaking to The Sun to support the National Deaf Children’s Society, Tarek added: “You've probably already seen Tasha’s caring and compassionate manner that she has for the people.
“By definition a super power is ‘an exceptional or extraordinary power or ability’ and for Tasha it gives her the ability to inspire others into understanding they are not hindered by any disability or insecurity, they should believe in themselves and that anything is possible.”
Watch Tasha on Love Island, tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
