Awkward moment Gemma Owen makes major blunder on Love Island – but did you spot it?

LOVE Island fans reckon they spotted the cringe-worthy moment Gemma Owen realised that Jay Younger wasn’t trying to chat her up at all last night.

The 19-year-old was seen giggling as the new arrival opened up about a girl he wanted to make a move on.

However, many reckon her face changed when she realised he wasn’t talking about her.

Jay told her, as they sat on neighbouring sun loungers: “If I wasn’t coupled up with Ekin do you think any of the girls would be open to getting to know me?”

Gemma replied: “Well obviously.” Jay asked: “Which ones do you think? You tell me what you think.”

She giggled: “What feeling do have have? No, you’re just trying to get information out of me.”

He replied, asking her to say if the person might like him back: “If I saw a name are you going to confirm or deny?”

However, she stopping smiling when she got him to name the girl he was talking about, with Jay replying: “Paige.”

She turned to look at him saying: “I think she’d be open.”

However, one fan insisted: “The awkwardness of Gemma 100% thinking Jay was talking about her when he was actually talking about Paige.”

Another wrote: “Gemma when Jay was asking her who she thought fancied him and then he mentioned Paige.”

A third tweeted: “When Jay was asking Gemma who would be open to getting to know him and she was giddy and giggling she obviously meant herself and he was like Paige?”

Gemma is currently coupled up with Davide – after new arrival Danica Taylor chose her man Luca Bish.

Jay, meanwhile, is with Ekin-Su, though their romance has cooled considerably since it was revealed she was in the bottom three after a public vote.

Paige is coupled up with Gemma’s ex Jacques O’Neill, with the pair appearing to cement their relationship in the Hideaway last night.
