Amanda Owen breaks silence as concerned Our Yorkshire Farm fans spot that beloved ‘family member’ is missing
AMANDA Owen has broken her social media silence after concerned fans of Our Yorkshire Farm spotted a "family member" was missing.
Many viewers of the popular Channel 5 series admitted they were keen for an update on sheepdog Kate as she hadn't been seen for a long time on the shepherdess' Instagram page.
Amanda, 47, immediately replied to the concerned fan to explain that border collie Kate had just been taking a break from her work duties.
"How's Kate? I've not seen her in your photos for ages?" one of Amanda's followers had asked her on Twitter.
The mother-of-nine quickly replied: "Kate has been out and about but it's a quieter time for her post lambing season.
"A well earned rest with occasional endeavours to catch up with breakaway sheep that sneak off into the meadows."

She went on to share a couple of snaps of herself and her beloved dog Kate as they headed to work on the Yorkshire hills together.
Fans flooded the comments in response, expressing their relief that the sweet dog was being given time to relax and was well.
"I'm so glad she's doing OK," one wrote, as a second chimed in: "Nice to see Kate is able to take her foot off the throttle. Absolute gem."
It comes shortly after Amanda insisted that she would continue wearing "inappropriate clothing" despite fan backlash.

The Channel 5 star, who recently split from husband Clive, was slammed for wearing a bodycon dress and stilettos last year.
In July, Amanda swapped her usual farming attire for a figure-hugging black frock for a rare evening out.
Some fans were quick to criticise Amanda's stylish look, suggesting she should stick to her farming gear on social media.
Amanda insisted her occasional glam appearance does not stop her from being a shepherdess and said her focus is still on the farm.
"Big earrings, inappropriate clothing and plain speaking," she said. "Whatever they expect I won’t be it.
"I will tell you three things: I have a love of rave and dance music. I don’t have any neighbours so I can listen to it as loud as I like when the kids are out at school."
It comes after Amanda revealed her never-before-seen "tramp stamp" tattoo.
