TAKING THE MICK

Emmerdale fans seriously distracted as they spot familiar face from Coronation Street

MANY suspected Sandra Flaherty's return to the Dales would be troublesome and Terry's arrival only confirmed it.

But Emmerdale viewers were stunned to recognise a familiar face from Corrie during last night's instalment of the ITV soap.

Liv and Vinny Dingle (portrayed by Isobel Steele and Bradley Johnson) had every reason to be sceptical of Sandra (Joanne Mitchell) when she first showed up on their doorstep.

After some convincing, they finally accepted to take her in, allowing her to get a fresh start in the eponymous village.

However, on Monday, Sandra's friend Terry turned all of their plans on their heads when he stormed into Mill Cottage and angrily demanded that Sandra pay him £4k right on the spot.

Amid the commotion, eagle-eyed fans recognised Terry, played by Neil Bell, from rival soap Coronation Street.

"Terry's been someone dodgy before here or corrie I think", one viewer wrote on Twitter.

Another added: "The thug from #Corrie has made it across the Pennines to Emmerdale", while a third viewer chimed in: "I recognise Terry from somewhere."

Viewers will be relieved to know their eyes weren't playing tricks on them - actor Neil Bell has been seen four times in the cobbles.

His most recognisable stint in Weatherfield was when he played another thug, psychotic gangster Mick Chaney who, amid his numerous criminal enterprises, was also Todd Grimshaw's ex-boyfriend.

Mick was known to have manipulated Todd into getting involved with his own criminal ambitions.

Neil played the bad apple from October, 2020, to February, 2021 and his new character in Emmerdale is no better than Mick.

The thug managed to bully Liv and Vinny into giving him the four grand he aggressively asked from Sandra and seemed to be happy with the gesture.

Sadly, and as Emmerdale fans expected upon her reappearance, Sandra isn't as innocent as she first claimed.

In later scenes aired last night, it was revealed Sandra is in on Terry's act and is letting him know how he can steal more money from the newlyweds.

On Friday, when she was seeing taking a mysterious phone call, ITV viewers had already speculated she was only interested in her daughter's wealth.

While Vinny remains suspicious of her, Liv is failing to catch on.

Will she see Sandra's true colours before it's too late?
