Families can now stay overnight in the grounds after the gateway lodge is opening as an Airbnb.

It sits just yards from where recent winners Danny Miller and Giovanna Fletcher took on their Bushtucker Trials.

Gwrych Castle has been a hit with visitors ever since it featured on the reality show starring Ant and Dec.

The holiday let called Tan-yr-Ogo Lodge was sold off in 1977 by the castle to be converted to a family home.

But the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust bought it back in May - in a bid to protect its future near Abergele, North Wales.

A Gwrych Castle Estate spokesman said: ";The lodge provides a unique opportunity to become the Lady or Lord of the Castle for a few nights, where you would stay in a recently refurbished elevated section of the complex providing a mini castle experience.

"Tan-yr-Ogo Lodge comfortably sleeps up to six people, and is very private as it’s hidden behind a huge stone Tudor-arched entrance gateway on Abergele Road.

"It’s already proving to be popular as July is pretty much fully booked, with availability towards the end of August onwards."

It comes as a new I’m A Celebrity exhibition opens at the castle for fans of the ITV show.

The spokesman added: "Fans can see challenge props as used on the show, along with bilingual exhibition banners to give visitors an insight on how the show was made."
