I was on Love Island and producers encouraged Jacques’ Casa Amor antics to give fans more drama
A FORMER Love Islander says producers often encourage stars to cheat during Casa Amor to satisfy fans' desire for drama.
Faye Winter says bosses hold the power when it comes to editing footage to fit their storylines - but stars are NOT puppets on strings.
The 27-year-old was giving an insight into the dramatic events aired this week, which led to Jacques O'Neill quitting the villa.
Although she doesn't condone him snogging bombshell Cheyanne Kerr behind partner Paige's back, Faye insists he will have been encouraged by producers to get close to the new girls.
However, she makes clear ITV never pressurises stars to do anything they don't want to do.
Islanders are always free to make their own decisions - and there is only so much footage that can be aired from filming 24 hours a day, she explains.

"None of us will agree with how Jacques behaved in Casa Amor", Faye told The Sun in an exclusive interview.
"But if they all stuck with their partners everyone watching would be fuming. They'd be livid if there was no drama.
"You've got production there, who aren't forcing you, but they advise you to get to know other people.
"The Casa Amor bombshells have come in to stir things up. They might go for a weak link to get on the show. Their intentions aren't always true, sometimes they're purely going in there to get in the villa.
"I won't condone what Jacques has done, but people have been through it in previous series and got back on track."

Jacques, 23, went from being a firm fan favourite with a likely spot in the final to being viciously trolled online for kissing Cheyanne Kerr behind Paige's back.
Last night he chose to walk out of the villa after admitting he was finding the experience too tough - just 24 hours after bombshell Adam Collard arrived.
volunteer Faye added: "Jacques hasn't had an easy ride in there.
"We've only known him for a few weeks and he already came in with a tarnished reputation as Gemma's ex-boyfriend.
"Producers have a storyline and a role for each Love Island cast member.
"People say they hardly saw my sweet side and that was a massive part of me and that's why I'm close to six girls I'm so close to from the villa.
"If I was that much of a k***head on the show I wouldn't have made so many friends.
"If you've been a certain way in the casting they'll try to keep you sticking to that narrative.
"It's such a rollercoaster. The producers might show a row between two people who made up an hour later, but they stage it for another few episode that you're not getting on. They have the power to do that."

A Love Island spokesman said: "As we have said before, it is not possible to show everything that happens in the villa due to time constraints.
"It is always our intention to produce a show that is a fair and accurate representation of life in the villa."
