Loose Women shocked as Denise Welch reveals her real name

DENISE Welch shocked her fellow Loose Women stars today when she revealed her real name.

While we all know the actress, 64, as Denise she confessed that isn't actually what her parents named her.

During a segment on Thursday's Loose Women about names and their meanings, the former Waterloo Road actress told her stunned co-stars that her name is actually Jacqueline.

After revealing the stories behind her sons Matt and Louis' names, she said: "With me, I'm Jacqueline Denise."

Kaye Adams and Frankie Bridge gasped as Charlene White started: "Is Denise not your..."

Denise said: "No. I was never brought up as Jacqueline. My mother, according to dad, was going through a 'French' phase and loved the idea of Jacqueline Denise."

She added: "She'd been to Dieppe once on a ferry. But she thought Jacqueline Denise flowed better than Denise Jacqueline."

Revealing the trouble she has with so many names, Denise said: "It's really annoying.

"I'll be at the doctors and I'll says 'it's Denise Welsh'. 'oh, hang on a minute, it might be Denise Townley [her married name]'.

"oh, actually, it might be Jacqueline Denise..."

It comes after fans insisted they spotted a "feud" between Denise and another Loose Women star - Coleen Nolan.

Tweeting during an episode earlier this week, one wrote: "Coleen and Denise can't stand each other. You can just tell."

Another said: "Yes I really love when Coleen and Denise talk over each other."
