Love Island Luca’s sister hits back as fans claim he’s obsessed with Michael Owen

LUCA Bish's sister has hit back at fan claims that he's obsessed with his Love Island girlfriend Gemma Owen's dad Michael.

Viewers have been joking pretty much from the start of this year's Love Island that football mad Luca, 23, is desperate to meet legend Michael, 42.

But his sister Claudia has insisted that when Luca talks about meeting Gemma's family on the outside it's purely because he's a very family orientated person.

Sharing a snap of the couple on a recent villa date, she wrote: "TONS of support but for the people bashing someone for being vulnerable & affectionate on national TV, you evidently haven't felt the same way.

"Luca doesn't do the mediocre type of love."

Claudia continued: "Family is such a big thing for him, and for her, so when he refers to it, it's not because of her dad as much as some want to run with that.

"It's because it's just generally such an important aspect of their lives which is lovely."

During last night's show Gemma and Luca reached a big milestone in their relationship when they both dropped the L bomb.

As they cuddled up on the terrace, Luca told her: "I am in love with you."

Gemma instantly responded: "I love you too."

On Wednesday night, the pair were treated to a romantic beach date and Luca was thrilled to have some time alone with Gemma.

As they arrived at the date location, the conversation soon turned to the future, with Luca making a joke about him proposing to Gemma.

"I feel like I’m going to propose," he said as he noted the beautiful decorations that have been laid out for their day together.
