The Control Room filming locations: Where is the BBC show filmed?

THE Control Room is a three-part series that is set to have you on the edge of your seats.

But the show may leave some viewers wondering where the new BBC One drama was filmed.

Where is The Control Room set?

BBC One's The Control Room is set in Scotland.

The three-part series is written by Nick Leather and directed by Amy Neil.

It tells the story of an emergency call handler named Gabe, who is played by Ian De Caestecker.

While Gabe is working for the Strathclyde Ambulance Service in Glasgow, his world is “turned upside down when he receives a desperate life-and-death call from a distressed woman who appears to know him”, the BBC said.

Where was The Control Room filmed?

Glasgow

Filming took place in and around Glasgow in September 2021.

reported how part of Rose Street in the city centre was closed off for traffic in order for filming.

They also said that several other city centre streets had restrictions in place in order for filming to take place.

De Caestecker - who leads the cast as Gabe alongside Joanna Vanderham - was spotted filming in the area.

Speaking about the series, actor Ian said: “The Control Room is one of the most exciting scripts I’ve ever read, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time so I’m thrilled to now be bringing it to life.

"I’ve always loved working with the BBC and am especially delighted to be filming alongside this fantastic cast and crew in my hometown of Glasgow.”

The Runaway actress Joanna Vanderham added: "Filming in my home country of Scotland is always special and my research for the character means I’ve been reminiscing about my own adolescence."

When is the Control Room on TV?

The Control Room kicks off on BBC One on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 9pm.

The drama will continue over the following two nights.

Each episode of the three-part series is an hour-long.

Fear not if you miss any episodes as they will also be available on BBC iPlayer as a boxset after the first episode has aired.
