During the programme last night, viewers saw three culinary teams from Birmingham go head-to-head to be in with a chance to win the cash prize of £1,000.

The Oyster Club, followed by Caribbean pub Wildmoor Oak and restaurant Eight competed.

On the final night head chef Andy, and co-owner Sam, dished up some 'fancy' food from their restaurant, Eight, to the other contestants.

Andy and Sam served the guests, a three-course meal which consisted of: Japanese-style cod curry, Wagyu beef with oysters and truffle, and a chocolate mousse with blood orange for dessert.

Viewers were left completely baffled at the extremely small portion sizes being served, and took to Twitter to air their frustrations.

With one raging user saying: "Oh b******* they won."

Another chimed in: "Teeny-tiny portions and imagine the reaction if you had a complaint."

The guests were also treated to some background about the inspiration behind the starter dish - which nobody asked for.

The contestants didn't look too entertained during Andy's little rant.

With one contestant, taking a swipe saying: "Chemistry wasn't my strongest subject, you learn something new every day - but maybe it was Andy's."

Another echoed: "Some places are too fancy nowadays."

Next on the menu was the main - £75 worth of Wagu beef, oysters and truffle, that seemed to win over some of the contestants before they realised how small the portion sizes were.

After the main, Andy brought over a 'liquid nitrogen' palette cleanser for the guests to use.

The other contestants looked baffled, with one saying: "Yeah, you get all these tricks at these fancy restaurants."

When it got to scoring, the contestants weren't impressed with the portion sizes.

The Oyster club pair said: "The portions of food were just a bit too small for a thee-course meal, and that's why we are scoring them a fourteen."

The Caribbean pub owners from Wildmoor Oak also agreed saying: "The portion sizes of the food were just too small."

Despite the contestants not being happy with the portion sizes, Andy and Sam came first, winning the cash prize of £1,000.
