After their morning debriefs, a clip of Tasha Ghouri's mum and dad, and Andrew Le Page's parents heading into the villa.

Voice over Iain Stirling said: "The parents are here!"

He added: "Sadly they still aren't allowed to hug or kiss so they'll have to stand two metres apart."

But viewers were confused about ITV's decision.

One said: "sorry but what is the point in bringing in the parents after 8 weeks if they can’t even hug each other? make it make sense #loveisland."

Another pointed out: "What difference is not letting them hug going to make when they’ve already flown out there and walked all around the villa."

A third added: "why can’t they hug? they’re gonna leave the villa and hug their parents outside anyway."

"magine not seeing your parents for 8 weeks and you’re told you can’t even give them a hug? #LoveIsland what is this f***ery," a fourth chimed in.

ITV's decision is likely still a Covid protocol to help stop the spread of the virus.

Last year the stars of Love Island 2021 also had to stay away from their loved ones when they came to visit.
