Asked during a Q&A if he'd flown out to Majorca to film the series finale, the pharmaceutical salesman, from Nottingham, said: "My invite got lost in the post"

However, former Islanders never return for the final.

Paige Thorne and Adam Collard, and Danica Taylor and Jamie Allen who reached the last week of the ITV2 show have flown home today.

Ikenna was one of the original line-up of hopefuls for the 2022 Love Island series.

Sadly the Nottingham native, who was working alongside vaccination company AstraZeneca during the pandemic, was dumped from the villa in week three.

On his exit, he told ITV: "I didn’t find romance but it was nice to be in the Villa, nice to have a pool in the heat, couldn’t really complain.

"Obviously short-lived but that’s cool though."

Four couples will go head to head to be crowned the winners of Love Island 2022 during a live final on Monday.

The final episode of the ITV dating series will see Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti, Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, and Indiyah Pollack and Dami Hope battle it out for the title and to take home the £50,000 prize.

In the penultimate episode of the series, the islanders received socially distanced visits from their friends and families.

Indiyah's mum Dee and her sister Shak used the visit to make it clear that they were not impressed with Dami's behaviour in Casa Amor.
