EastEnders recast Amy Mitchell as Silent Witness star Ellie Dadd takes the role
EASTENDERS has recast Amy Mitchell after eight years.
The daughter of the late Roxy Mitchell and Jack Branning has been played by four actresses since her birth in 2008.
Actress Abbie Burke has played the character for the last eight years.
She took over from Amelie Conway in March 2014 but her last appearance on the soap was in June.
However now Silent Witness star Ellie Dadd has taken over the role - and she makes her debut in this week's episodes.
And she is thrown in at the deep end in a harrowing bullying storyline after being introduced to Howie’s son Denzel.

She is immediately drawn to him but the teenager doesn’t see her in the same way.
Sadly, things take a nasty turn for Amy when Ravi's son Davinder aka Nugget shows up.
Both Denzel and Nugget wind Amy up with a vile stunt, leaving her seriously upset.
Amy is utterly devastated by what they’ve done.
Later on, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) finds a teary Amy who tells her what happened.
A fuming Chelsea finds Denzel and Nugget, and tears a strip off them.
This also prompts Kim and her sister Denise Fox (Diane Parish) to support Amy with the realities of being a teenager.
Things get even more fraught when Chelsea realises Denzel never apologised to Amy - and rips into him and Nugget again.
