MASTERCHEF'S Mel Blatt fought back the tears after judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode gave their verdict on her food.
The singer - who shot to fame in 1997 as part of pop group All Saints - was one of five famous faces taking part in the second heat.
Mel, 47, choirmaster Gareth Malone, 46, former world boxing champion Chris Eubank, 56, EastEnders star Cliff Parisi, 62, and reality star Queen MoJo, 28, tried their best to impressive the judges with their skills in the kitchen.
For her final dish Mel made a beef and pancetta cottage pie with truffled mash potato, a side of pas and red wine sauce.
From the first bite, Gregg and John were very impressed.
Speaking about the pie, Gregg said: "Inside there we've got really lovely soft bits of beef and a sauce so rich it's almost fruity."

"Good presentation, good cookery. It eats well. Yummy, yummy, yummy.
John added: "On the side these peas - sharpness from the creme fraiche, the warmth coming from the mustard, that creme fraiche and mustard actually works really nice as a pressing for the pie.
"Really lovely. As a dinner party dish, I think that's wonderful."
Mel was over the moon with their feedback.

Fighting back the tears, she said: "I' m buzzing to have cooked my first plate of food and they liked it.
"Quite emotional, and I don't want to talk about it because then this makes me want to cry."
Thankfully her hard work put her through into the next round.
Unfortunately MoJo was booted out of the competition.
