Experts Charlene Douglas, 41, Paul C Brunson, 47, and Mel Schilling, 50, who assist the contestants, spoke to The Sun about what viewers can expect from the new series, and promised “more drama than ever before.”

And this year a huge new concept borrowed from the Australia version has been introduced that will see new “intruder” couples thrown in mid-way through the show which Mel says will “really throw a spanner in the works.”

She explained: “The new couples thrown in confronts the other couples and shakes up the social dynamic. We’ve really upped the ante this year.”

Earlier this week, The Sun's exclusive clip revealed tantrums, tears and cheating couples.

Chanita, from Derby, doesn't hold back at one bitter dinner party, snapping at a man who isn't her husband: "Your wife's been chatting s**t about me."

The couples will also have a love and hate week, which, as expert Charlene explains, “is a chance for them to be really honest.”

She shared: “It goes down well for some but not so well for others. It’s very difficult when you’re on the receiving end of feedback so you’ll see some interesting reactions.”

Expert Paul said this year was “challenging” when it came to choosing which couples would walk down the aisle together.

“The participant and the person who wants to come onto these shows is more savvy now so it’s challenging to discern who actually wants love,” he explained, hinting some come on looking for the fame the hit show can provide.

Paul continued: “People are applying because they want fame, absolutely! These platforms can literally change your life so of course you’re going to have people who applying for the fame but part of our job is to say ok that might be the case but are you here for something real.”

The 30-episode series will see the experts guide all the action, and viewers will also see two same-sex couples enter the show this year.

Mel shared: "We take the matchmaking process extremely seriously. It's so important to us that we find matches that are authentic and reflect the diversity of the society we live in.”
