RIDLEY fans have all said the same thing after Line of Duty's Adrian Dunbar revealed a secret talent on the show.

The ITV drama sees Adrian, 64, play the titular character, who is called on by his ex-colleague and newly promoted DI Carol Farman to assist on a missing persons case that remains unsolved after 13 years.

Since retiring, Ridley has been running a jazz club, and during the first two-hour episode on Sunday, the character gets up and sings a song at the piano.

Fans of Adrian - who plays Ted Hastings in Line of Duty - did not expect the actor to have such a good voice, and took to Twitter to comment on his secret talent.

One wrote: "Loved loved loved #Ridley @bronaghwaugh @georgebukhari and #AdrianDunbar can sing absolutely brilliant."

Another tweeted: ";Wow! Adrian Dunbar can sing! Album out for Xmas?!! #Ridley."

A third shared: "Ridley #AdrianDunbar 🥰 This man can sing soulfully as well as act beautifully."

Meanwhile a fellow viewer added: "Watched #Ridley last night - Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey - he can sing, too."

Adrian previously spoke about his singing scenes, and how he didn't feel any nerves about showing off his vocals.

He told Radio Times: "No, no nervousness at all, I started [out] playing in bands, so being on stage singing is something I've done quite a bit of.

"And even in my 40s I put another band together and I went out on the road in Ireland, played in pubs and bars and stuff like that, just for my own enjoyment, because I like it."

He continued: "I really wanted to do something with music in it, so I suggested that he owned a jazz club. And then I did some research regarding jazz and the north of England and so forth.

"I came across Richard Hawley, who I didn’t know, and started listening to his songs. Subsequently, we contacted Richard and we found three of his songs that we really liked, because I thought they really suited my character.

"And so we went and recorded them and fitted them into the show. And I think that element really works. I also wanted a place within the show every week that you’d go to that was a bit warmer and a bit more glamorous."

Ridley airs on ITV and is available on ITV Hub.
