Within the first 30 minutes of the show Chaser Jenny managed to beat contestants Toby, Annabelle and Sarah - meaning that they had to leave the competition.

But Dan didn't give up that easily and ended up bringing £5k into the final round.

He also took a risk and picked the larger amount of money.

And it paid off after he answered 16 questions correctly and managed to take home an impressive £80k.

Host Bradley, 62, was left speechless and told Dan: "That is the highest amount any single player has ever won on the show."

He then went over to give him a high five, as he said: "That was great."

Brad was intrigued to know what he was going to spend the huge amount of cash on.

Dan explained that he was going to put the money towards seeing his family in New Zealand.

But Bradley had other plans for him.

The TV presenter later joked: "When I say £80,0000 really, it's only £72,000 because I take 10 per cent.

"Me and the crew are gonna go out to the pub for a drink after this."

It comes shortly after The Chase viewers were left fuming when one contestant "sabotaged" his team with a devious tactic.

On Tuesday night, Daniel, Nicola, Bobby and Adam went up against Paul Sinha AKA the Sinnerman.

Daniel managed to rack up £6k in the quick-fire round, then was offered £30k when he faced the Chaser.

He also had the option to take £1k as the low offer.

The rest of his teammates told him to take the £6k, however, he decided to go with the low offer - leaving fans very confused.

One wrote: "Honestly, what is the point of going on #thechase being 1st up getting a quite respectable 6K in you're cash builder and then taking the LOW offer of a grand???"

Others were annoying with him also, as one wrote: "Hope they all go low now so Daniel doesn't steal anything..."
