Strictly Come Dancing fans all say same thing about Tony Adams’ football themed dance

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans branded Tony Adams' performance as the ‘worst ever’.

The Arsenal legend, 55, and his pro Katya Jones paid homage to his illustrious sports career as they danced the tango dressed in red jerseys.

Tony was lowered to the dancefloor on a gold cannon and briefly danced with a football as they performed to Go West by the Village People, securing a score of 15.

Taking to Twitter to discuss his performance, one person wrote: “Maybe the worst dance I’ve seen on this show #Strictly.”

A second added: “Tony Adams is one of my footballing heroes but that was dreadful 😀  #Strictly.”

While a third tweeted: “Tony won't be around for long; he's not even got comedy value worth keeping in. #SCD #Strictly.”

And a fourth said: “Tony Adams did, quite possibly, the worst opening dance I’ve ever seen on #STRICTLY.”

Craig Revel Horwood appeared speechless initially and said it did appear as though Adams' shoes were glued to the floor at times.

After receiving boos from the audience for his comments, the judge added that he did have positive remarks, saying: "It had attack and it had aggression."

Motsi Mabuse added: "I do feel, honestly, that from a soccer man to a dancer, we are a step further. And I love that you have this energy and this conviction."

The former England skipper — known as The Donkey because of his inelegant style — previously said stepping out on to the floor is more scary than on to the pitch.

The ex-Arsenal defender said: “I ain’t got a clue how to dance, so I’m making myself very vulnerable.

“It feels like the first day of school but you can do anything if you try.

“My former teammates do think I’m off my rocker for doing Strictly but they admire me for having the balls to give it a go.”
