Sally Nugent sat alongside Jon Kay with the pair asking the musician a whole host of questions.

At one point, Sally commented on Mark's appearance, as the 50-year-old showed off his long hair and bushy mustache.

She said: "You look different".

Her comment immediately prompted tweets from BBC Breakfast viewers watching at home.

One wrote alongside a gif of Mark Wahlberg shaking his head in disbelief: "Sally to an aging Mark Owen: You look different. Nice Sally, really nice.#BBCBreakfast."

Another tweeted: "Sally being polite to Mark Owen saying " you look different" instead of "you look a fkn mess".

A third wrote: "'The moustache — how long has that been there?' Nugent made it sound like she’d just noticed it mid-interview. She’s accusing him of sticking it on while she wasn’t looking."

Others were more focused on Mark's appearance than Sally's questions.

One joked: "Is he moonlighting as a 70s themed porn star???"

Another posted a picture of David Jason in character as DI Jack Frost and captioned it: "Mark Channelling his Frost??"

A fellow viewer tweeted: "I didn't recognise him! #BBCBreakfast."

Meanwhile a fourth cheekily added: "Wagner looking well on #BBCBreakfast."
