BBC Breakfast viewers have raged the show has 'gone so downhill it's underground' as they slam the hosts AND the guests.

The daily programme has always featured a mixture of hard news and lighter topics, but it seems some viewers are particularly cheesed off by it at the moment.

During Tuesdays show, hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay discussed issues including the impact of the Government's mini budget and NASA deflecting an asteroid away from Earth for the first time.

They also had former footballer Gary Neville on to discuss the World Cup taking place in Qatar, and actress Juliet Stevenson to talk about her new West End play.

But taking to Twitter, one BBC Breakfast viewer raged: "BBC Breakfast has gone so far 'downhill' it's subterranean. #BBCBreakfast."

Another tweeted: "#bbcbreakfast once again its 8am and we have some fluff about a play, book, album, tv show etc instead of the actual news on the news channel.

"Can we get the producer some new glasses or actually a new producer (I am available BBC)."

Others took issue with Jon and Sally as hosts, with one viewer writing: "Surely the giggling s***-wittery of Jon and Sally can't last much longer on #BBCBreakfast.

"A return to presenters with, by comparison, formidable intellect and political nous is long overdue."

Another added: "#bbcbreakfast Welcome back to CBEEBIES News with Jon and Sally.."

However, it seems the show can't win with viewers, because viewers also seem to complain when Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt host the show from Thursday to Saturday.

Last week, viewers were left fuming as they accused Naga of "shouting" at guest Angela Rayner.

They took to Twitter to slam the presenting team and argue they couldn't hear anything Ashton-Under-Lyne MP Angela said because Naga was on "interrupting mode."

One took to Twitter to write a lengthy post which argued: "#BBCBreakfast invite @AngelaRayner on only to be talked at and talked over by #charliestayt and @TVNaga01. Naga and Charlie will keep shouting at them #BBCBreakfast."

A second put: "An interview is a structured conversation where one participant asks questions & the other provides answers.
