The former X Factor finalist and I'm A Celebrity star was named an early favourite with bookies as soon as she was confirmed on the Strictly line-up.

Fleur, who scored a massive chart hit with Sax in 2015, is paired up with new pro Vito Coppola, with him also sparking plenty of interest amongst fans.

They aimed to make a fine first impression on both the Strictly judges and viewers at home with a routine to Jennifer Lopez's Let's Get Loud.

Their routine was like one giant ball of energy, with them covering the ballroom with a performance filled with an array of different steps.

However, none of the judges were overly glowing with their praise, with comments including that it was "a bit out of control" and "lacked technique".

Fleur and Vito, who were the last couple to hit the floor, were given a total of 28, after receiving 7s from Craig Revel HorwoodShirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse and 8 from Anton Du Beke.

Despite the mediocre scores, Fleur remained upbeat during Wednesday evening's instalment of Strictly - It Takes Two.

Speaking about receiving her feedback, she said: "I was really happy to be honest. I was standing getting the critique, it was work on the technique, control, your energy.

"And I was like, they have spotted I don't have any technique. I thought if I smiled I wouldn't give it away."

Fleur also recently opened up about training for the competition, admitting it’s already becoming “overwhelming” two weeks into the current series.

She is now training for her Viennese Waltz on Saturday night, and revealed on her  show that rehearsals are even more intense than viewers realise.

“Every day is merging into one day – I’ve got no concept of time or place and I just feel like I’m dancing all the time,” Fleur explained.

My brain gets tired because you’re having to process all these steps and techniques.

"And as for my body, let me tell you, my neck is aching so much from being stuck out to the side and it just feels really unnatural."
