Strictly Come Dancing star Jayde Adams slams treatment of women on the show in tearful apology
STRICTLY Come Dancing star Jayde Adams was teary during an interview on Strictly It Takes Two, as she said women on the show “get it in the neck.”
The star, 37, sat alongside pro partner Karen Hauer as they discussed their recent elimination from the hit BBC show with Rylan Clark.
Jayde addressed the vile trolling she said women on the show receive in a tearful interview after the comedian’s appearance was mocked by cruel trolls.
During the chat, Jayde told Rylan: “It was amazing getting to do Victoria Wood. She’s been missed since 2016 and I just got to do that in the BBC, it’s incredible.
“She’s a massive icon, I’m only sorry that it just wasn’t enough and I’m sorry I went out on her.

Rylan interrupted, adding: “You have nothing to be sorry about because that routine was so high paced.”
Jayde and Karen left the show after being in the dance off against Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, after the pair received 28 from the judges, with a 6/7/7/8.
Jayde continued: “I just knew if we were up against Molly and Carlos that it was bye bye Jayde Adams. Because I am a woman in her 30s who’s got a reconstructed ACL babes. I did what I could, I did my best.”
Rylan added: “Social media can be the worst place. I’ve seen the messages and how you’re handling it I applaud you because that’s why everyone loves you.”
Discussing handling the trolling she’s received, Jayde added: “I will say, women on this show get it in the neck, whether it’s me whether it’s Karen, whether it’s Shirley, the women get it worse than the men. And I just hope that my resilience is going to change things in the future.”
While playing best moment clips, Jayde’s eyes filled up with tears as she watched the montage back.
The comedian dealt with the disappointment of elimination by reminding fans about all the good things she has going on.
She wrote after being booted off: “I had the time of my life! Don’t worry about me my babes. I would’ve loved to have stayed obviously, our Halloween and couples choice plans were huge.
“Ya girls booked and blessed. I got my own series on ITV2 Ruby Speaking that I start filming in January, Alma’s Not Normal series 2, a massive UK tour, the Take That movie and loads more. Being on #Strictly was just the cherry on an already amazing cake.
“I’ll see you all on my tour in 2023!
“Thank you to my babe @karenhauer & @bbcstrictly. It’s truly the greatest entertainment show in the UK. Inside and out ❤️.”
Last week Jayde admitted that she ‘laughs’ along with trolls’ comments about her weight in an attempt to show resilience.
The comedian said she ‘knew it was going to happen’ when she first signed up for BBC One celebrity dance competition.
