I’m A Celeb’s Scarlette Douglas ‘doesn’t know about Place in the Sun co-star Jonnie Irwin’s terminal cancer’
I'M A Celeb star Scarlette Douglas will not be told about her former co-star Jonnie Irwin's terminal illness in the jungle.
The 35-year-old star is thought to known her A Place In The Sun pal was unwell but not how severely.
A pal told told The Sun: “She knows Jonnie really well and he was a big help to her when she first started working on the show.
“She holds him in high regard and will never forget how welcoming he was from the outset.
“She knew he was ill , but didn’t know just what stage it was at.
"There will definitely be a sense of shock and sadness when she hears the news when she gets out.”
Jonnie revealed last night that he has terminal cancer that has spread to his brain.
He told : "I don’t know how long I have left, but I try to stay positive and my attitude is that I'm living with cancer, not dying from it.
"I set little markers – things I want to be around for. I got into the habit of saying: 'Don't plan ahead because I might not be well enough.' But now I want to make plans."

Scarlette, who quit A Place In The Sun earlier this year, was on the show with Jonnie for six years.
This month, she joined the I'm A Celeb jungle alongside the likes of Boy George, Matt Hancock and Charlene White.
Under the rules of the ITV show, contestants are not allowed access to the outside world except in very rare circumstances.
Jonnie explained last night that he was initially diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020 and told he had six months to live.
The Channel 4 star and his wife Jessica share three-year-old son Rex and two-year-old twins, Rafa and Cormac.
As well as hosting A Place In The Sun he has also worked on the BBC's Escape To the Country and To Buy Or Not To Buy Dream Lives For Sale.
He explained that he knew something was wrong with his health when he suffered blurred vision while driving in Italy.
His TV co-stars and friends have been paying tribute to Jonnie since his shock announcement.
Place in the Sun co-star Jasmine Harman wrote today: "Words can’t fix much, but what lovely words of support you have had here Jonnie."
Danni Menzies called him "incredibly brave" adding: "A true inspiration to us all to cherish all the moments we can with the people we love."
