ITV lines up I’m A Celebrity’s Scarlette Douglas for major new gig after starring in the jungle
SCARLETTE Douglas is set to follow in the footsteps of Emily Atack and Joel Dommett as ITV line her up to be a new face on the channel.
The former A Place In The Sun presenter, 35, impressed I’m A Celebrity bosses during her 16 days in the jungle and producers are keen on making her a permanent fixture on daytime shows such as This Morning and Lorraine.
An insider said: “Scarlette is a natural storyteller and was seen in The Bush Telegraph more than anyone else during her time in camp.
“Bosses are keen to welcome her into the ITV family and are looking for her to present segments on their daytime shows.
“Scarlette has many strings to her bow including dancing, singing and property knowledge which makes her the perfect all-rounder for the channel.”
Scarlette, who presents Channel 4’s Worst House on the Street with her brother Stuart Douglas, was the second campmate to be evicted after ITV newsreader Charlene White, 42.
Speaking for the first time after leaving the jungle, Scarlette told The Sun: “People aren't voting for me to leave. They're voting for who their favourites are and if I'm not their favourite there's nothing I can do about that. I just have to be true to me.
“Be authentic and just enjoy the experience and when my time comes, my time comes wherever it is.”
She added: “I'm the second out and it would have been great to get a lot further but that didn't happen.
“I can't take it in a negative way, I have to take it positively because I've had an amazing experience, I've met some incredible people and take from that what you will.”
