Coronation Street’s Simon star Alex Bain shows off striking new look on date with fiancée
CORONATION Street's Simon star Alex Bain looked unrecognisable in a facial hair transformation with his fiancée.
The soap actor best known for playing Simon Barlow on the Coronation Street cobbles, looked totally unlike his character as he headed out for lunch with his fiancée.
He sported some facial stubble designer on his chin and upper lip as he headed out for lunch with Mollie Lockwood, after announcing their engagement last month.
The happy couple enjoyed coffees and smoked salmon toast together at a cafe.
Alex wore a grey hoodie and a charcoal jacket as he completed his winter look off with a leather bracelet and a silver chain.
Mollie posted the snap of them out together on her Instagram with the caption: “Late birthday treat for @alexbainofficial.”

Alex then reposted the snap of his Instagram stories saying: "I love you!" with a series of love heart emoji's before sharing a picture of the food they had.
Alex, 20, shared the news in a joint interview with Mollie, 19, and said he popped the question on a romantic date night last year but they have managed to keep their huge news under wraps.
The Coronation Street star, who has been dating Mollie for two years, added: "I thought, ‘If I don’t do it now, I’ll keep getting more and more nervous!’ I was pretty certain she’d say yes, but I was still bricking it."
Speaking with , Mollie said Alex got down on one knee in October last year - and they told their loved ones over Christmas two months later.

"We wanted to enjoy that special time together, just the two of us, for a while," she said.
Alex, who became a dad at 17 when his then-girlfriend gave birth to their daughter Lydia-Rose, previously opened up to The Sun about experiencing "dark times" and credited is role on Coronation Street for saving him.
Alex played Simon Barlow since 2008. The character was originally played by twins, Jake and Oscar Hartley, on his birth in 2003.
