Emmerdale taken off air again in schedule shake up – but it’s better news for EastEnders fans

ITV soaps confirm further schedule changes as the FIFA World Cup continues.

Upcoming episodes of Emmerdale and Coronation Street have been moved in a TV shake up as ITV broadcast the World Cup.

There will be a double episodes on Wednesday, Thursday and FridayCredit: ITV

The World Cup 2022 will run up until 18th December so this won't be the end of the schedule changes.

The running of next weeks episodes of the ITV soaps are as follows.

Monday, December 5 - neither Emmerdale or Coronation Street will be on with ITV instead airing the Brazil vs South Korea game.

Tuesday, December 6 - Emmerdale won't air, making way for the Portugal vs Switzerland game. However, both soaps will broadcast hour-long episodes for the following days, to make up for time lost on previous days.

Wednesday, December 7 - Emmerdale will air an extended hour-long episode at 7pm, followed by Coronation Street which will air in its usual 8pm slot.

Thursday, December 8 - Emmerdale will show its second hour-long episode at 7pm. While Coronation Street will follow afterwards at 8pm, Corrie doesn't usually air on Thursdays.

Friday, December 9 -both ITV soaps will air another hour-long episode - Emmerdale at 7pm and Coronation Street at 8pm.

Meanwhile, BBC soap EastEnders will air on Monday, Tuesday, a double episode on Wednesday and one on Thursday.

There will also be a double episode on both Saturday and Sunday.

Upcoming scenes see Whitney celebrate her 30th birthday and the party is full of drama.

And Alfie and Freddie try to get their panto plans together.

Also, Dot’s family and friends gather for her emotional funeral.
