THE Traitors fans all threw their support behind one contestant after she battled with a tough day on the reality TV show.

The latest instalment of the new BBC One reality favourite saw 72 year old Andrea break down in tears after a fellow player accused her of being a traitor in front of the rest of the group.

Andrea was the talk of the episode amongst fans online as a result of a number of notable moments.

During the episode, the group faced another gruelling mission where they had to work together to add funds to the prize pot.

The mission consisted of the players collecting a number of barrels and rolling them through a vast terrain up to a distillery across the hill whilst facing a number of obstacles along the way.

Teamwork was of the essence during the mission which hit close to home for Andrea.

Andrea said: “We are, I think, a great team, and it’s lovely to do teamwork. Particularly for me, I live alone and coming back is like being at school in your favourite teams with your friends."

Andrea then made a heartbreaking confession which left viewers at home throwing their full support around her.

She said: "My partner died, we spent 26 years together, she was a wonderful woman. I came out of that saying, ‘yeah I'm a fighter’. One of the revelations for me being here is to say I really love these people, it’s lovely to be able to feel that at my age.”

Later in the episode, Andrea broke down in tears after being accused of being a traitor by fellow player Amos.

She defended herself tearfully, saying: "Ok, I'm giving my best, I'm doing absolutely what I can.

"Its, erm, excuse me, I'm absolutely doing what I can."

Andrea's emotions took over as she struggled to get her words out.

She continued: "I just couldn't be a traitor, I'm sorry, I just couldn't."

Fans at home rallied around Andrea as they supported her online.

One said: "Can they please leave Andrea alone, I genuinely got upset when she did today."

Another added: "Andrea is such a gem in The Traitors."

A third said: "Protect Andrea at all costs."

As a fourth penned: ";How dare Amos make Andrea upset..."

After Andrea opened up about the devastation of losing her partner, fans were also quick to flood Twitter with their supportive messages.

One wrote: "So lovely to see representation for queer elderly people, hearing Andrea talk about losing her partner broke my heart, bless her."
