Is Valerie Pitman leaving Doctors?

In August 2022, Moyle announced her decision to leave Doctors during an appearance on the Hear She Is podcast.

On the podcast, she explains how she originally told producers that she was leaving in 2020, but due to the pandemic, she asked producers if she could reverse her decision.

Moyle filmed her final episode on September 9 2022, with it set to air in 2023.

At the time of the podcast, Moyle said she had no job lined up after her exit from the series but said she felt it was time to leave.

Valerie was introduced as a temporary receptionist at the Mill, and made her first appearance on October 15, 2012.

She departed in December 2012 but made brief returns in 2013 and 2014.

Moyle was then promoted to the regular cast in 2016.

Her character's storylines in the programme have included a life-threatening battle against Hodgkin's lymphoma, fighting against Mrs. Tembe's (Lorna Laidlaw) new ideas for The Mill.
