But just minutes into the show Harry seemed to ruin the Strictly Come Dancing finale for poor Alex who said she was going to watch it on “catchup”.

The McFly star blurted out that Hamza Yassin had won the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Harry seemed to look anxious as he belatedly asked Alex if she knew who the winner was.

Alex then told Harry she was watching the final on catch-up.

Things then took a slightly tense turn – but it was quickly clear that the two hosts were just acting up for the cameras.

Introducing the show, Harry said: “Now, if like me you’re struggling with the Strictly series coming to an end, as Saturday’s final saw Hamza and Jowita lift the glitterball trophy.”

Harry then jokingly asked: “You did watch it, I assume?”

Alex replied: “I’m watching on catchup.”

A comedic Harry then couldn’t resist making a cheeky remark, as he said: “Oh nice, well then I’ve just given a massive spoiler just then.”

Alex gave a cheeky grin, before sarcastically replying: “Thanks for that.”

She then added: “I did know.”

Countryfile star Hamza was crowned the winner on Saturday night alongside his dance partner Jowita Przystal.
