FANS can't wait for Lord Sugar and his team to head back into the boardroom for a new series of The Apprentice.

The BBC One show is making its long-awaited return to TV, with 18 new candidates all hoping to be "hired" not "fired".

When does The Apprentice start?

The Apprentice kicks off TOMORROW (January 5, 2022) at 9pm on BBC One.

The new series of The Apprentice is the 17th season of the hit BBC show.

What is The Apprentice about?

The Apprentice sees 18 ambitious candidates battle it out for a staggering quarter-of-a-million-pound investment with billionaire boss, Lord Alan Sugar.

Under the watchful eye of fellow judges Baroness Karren Brady and Claude Littner, each week the candidates are split into teams to take on a business-inspired task

At the end of the task, the candidate who impresses Lord Sugar the least will hear him utter the immortal words, "You're fired!"

The Apprentice UK started back in 2005 and has proved a huge success for both the BBC and Alan Sugar.

How can I watch The Apprentice?

The Apprentice can be watched on BBC One every Thursday night at 9pm.

The show will run for 12 weeks, and can also be watched on the BBC iPlayer.

The winner of season 17 will be announced during the final episode, which is predicted to air on March 23, 2023.

Who won the last series of The Apprentice?

There were just TWO candidates left in the battle to win The Apprentice 2022 - Harpreet Kaur and Kathryn Louise Burn.

In the end, it was Harpreet who scooped the crown and was "hired" by Lord Sugar.

Harpreet - the owner of a dessert parlour from West Yorkshire - used the prize money to develop her already successful, six-figure coffee and cakes business.

Speaking about winning the show, Harpreet said at the time: "I cannot believe Lord Sugar has chosen me to be his business partner.

"I have dreamt of this moment."
