SILENT Witness fans were left stunned by a shocking Holby City cross - a year after the show was cancelled.

The BBC drama returned with another thriller episode with Dr Nikki Alexander and Jack Hodgson working on another mysterious crime together.

The episode saw the Lyell team work together to solve another complicated crime - as a lorry was found with dead bodies inside and a driver that was killed.

But viewers at home were left open-mouthed as they noticed a change in the set - the iconic hospital scenes were from Holby City.

Those at home watching couldn't believe the shocking crossover as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One fan wrote: "Pleased to see they're putting the Holby set to good use #SilentWitness."

Another wrote: "I was wondering why this Hospital looks so familiar. It's from Holby City!"

A third pointed out: "Well it's good to see they are making good use of the Holby City set."

More recently, some of the Holby City favourites enjoyed a pre-Christmas reunion for the first time since the show was brutally cancelled.

David Ames, who played Dom, Camilla Arfwedson, who played Zosia, Ellie Fanyinka, who played Morven and Rob Ostlere, who played Arthur caught up with each other.
