LIFE in the Dales has made viewers particularly wary of newcomers and Caleb Milligan is no exception.
Emmerdale fans believe they've rumbled the character's true motives after last night's instalment of the ITV soap.
Will Ash joined the line-up and made his debut on Christmas Day as his on-screen alter ego paid long-lost brother Cain a visit in prison.
He has since been trying to find his mark and helped his sibling get released from behind bars during last night's episode of the Yorkshire-based program.
But while he managed to speed up the process, allowing Cain to be reunited with his family while his son Kyle Winchester was taken away to an authority children's home, viewers remain cautious.
In their eyes, Caleb's true motives remain shrouded in mystery and they've learned not to trust appearances over the years.

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts about the newcomer, some believe he is working with the cops.
"Caleb is definitely working with the police some way or some how, I don’t like him," one wrote.
Another agreed: "Caleb is a character to watch out for, there's more than meets the eye and is clearly meant to be the next villain."
A third fan added: "I don’t trust Caleb just what’s his game" as a fourth echoed: "Caleb is just creepy."

One viewer fumed: "Sod off Caleb!! I don’t trust you!!"
But while fans stay wary of Caleb, Cain Dingle (portrayed by soap legend Jeff Hordley) isn't afraid to show him hostility.
The Dingles celebrated Cain's release from prison in the Woolpack, where Caleb joined them and stuck to the bar with Chas (Lucy Pargeter).
When she found out he had helped her husband get back his freedom, Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) encouraged Cain to thank Caleb.
This was despite Chas previously warning Caleb that her brother is an expert at holding grudges for years, as their late mother Faith experienced.
Eventually, Cain stood up and approached Caleb at the bar.
